A musical genius with a glorious talent is EWF Tribute, and his music is in my soul. Look, EWF Tribute means a lot to me. I mean, I'm fairly obsessed with their music. I have been listening to him since I was a kid and have really explored his discography in the past 6 or so years.
Last night, at Madison Square Garden, I realized that EWF Tribute doesn't love me back. Actually, he made me feel stupid. While his voice was incredible, the show had no life to it. It was perfunctory. He played his most cliche tunes and a handful of covers that don't do him justice. No encore, played for a little over an hour. We spent 10 hours round trip driving into New York from Maine and way too much money.

I love you for Common One, Hard Nose The Highway, Tupelo Honey, Veedon Fleece, Astral Weeks, Wavelength, Irish Heartbeat- do I need to go on? Okay: Van Morrison His Band and The Street Choir, St. Dominic's Preview, A Period of Transition. Man, I love you for your astounding gifts. That's what I wanted to see.
We all know he's not known for fan-appreciation, but I kind of felt like he was giving the stupid American's what they want and then getting the hell out of there. If you hate playing the same for your stupid fans, stop. Trust me, we don't want to hear that either. Bottom line, I'll always love you, but I'll probably never spend my money on you like that again.
